Prior is designed, prototyped, and produced entirely from discarded materials.
The outer shell is stitched from Allsteel’s discontinued sample fabrics, and the stuffing is hand-shredded scrap fabric — chopped down into tiny pieces one handful at a time.

In May I took a 6-hour overnight Greyhound bus from Chicago to Berea, Kentucky-- a small town in the appalacian mountains. I had the opportunity to attend two classes at the Woodworking School at Pine Croft, a craft school run by Berea College. Over the course of a 7-day class, I learned how to build tambour door cabinets under the guidance of educator and master craftswoman Larissa Huff.

Dressing Bench emerged from a semester-long exploration of metal conduit as a design material. Easily sourced and simple to manipulate, conduit is rarely associated with refined furniture — yet that tension became the heart of the project. After exploring a range of directions, from bookcases to modular furniture systems, the design landed on this bench, made for a girl's bedroom.
